MANILA, Philippines — The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or Pag-IBIG Fund partnered with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to build more than 7,000 affordable houses to benefit low-income families in Tarlac province.

Pag-IBIG CEO Marilene Acosta said on Wednesday that she and DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling inspected the project site – Kaia Homes, a 49-hectare horizontal housing development – in Barangay Armenia, Tarlac City.
The latest project would be under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s flagship expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, the top officials said.

During the inspection, Aliling and Acosta toured the project’s model units and ongoing construction, underscoring the government’s continuing efforts to provide decent, affordable, and sustainable housing opportunities for more Filipino families.

The latest project demonstrates the President’s commitment to accelerating housing production by strengthening partnerships with private developers, the DHSUD chief said.

“In line with President Marcos Jr.’s directive, we continue to engage with our stakeholders to further accelerate the delivery of safe, decent, and affordable homes to our countrymen under the Expanded 4PH program,” he said.

“We are likewise intensifying our efforts in the construction of socialized housing units through rigorous inspections to ensure that these homes meet quality standards under the Expanded 4PH,” he added.
The DHSUD said Kaia Homes’ Naya’ units include two floors, with a floor area of 32 square meters and a lot area of 30 square meters for inner units, and 41 square meters for corner lots, with each unit having two bedrooms, one toilet and bath, a spacious living area for a growing family, and ample space for motorcycle/e-bike parking.

The subdivision is likewise designed to promote a vibrant and family-friendly community, with amenities such as a playground, a multipurpose covered court, and open spaces where residents can gather and enjoy recreational activities, it added.

According to the housing czar, Kaia Homes Tarlac is among the numerous horizontal or subdivision-type housing under the 4PH program and covered by Pag-IBIG’s subsidized interest rates, making monthly amortization more affordable for homebuyers.
